Mid-season Impression: Akame ga Kill

Let me start this off by apologizing for posting this later than I said I would. Since I go back to school next week, I've been hanging out with friends a lot and doing a lot of prep . Nonetheless, that's not that great of an excuse since all I that I usually do for these posts (except for reviews) is sit at my computer for about 10-15 minutes. With that out of the way, I'm going to talk about one of my favorite shows: Akame ga Kill.
-----------------------------------------------
Akame ga Kill is one of my favorite manga, and it just so happened that I discovered it the week before the show premiered. I didn't find out about the show until episode 3 was released, but due to how much I loved the manga, I watched the first three episodes as soon as I found out about them. Unlike many series, the animation for the manga is exactly the same as the animation in the show. Added to that, the story for the anime follows the manga exactly. These are two things that almost never happen. The action sequences are incredibly well done and the voice actors were definitely well chosen. So far, my only issue is the fact that they officially changed the names of most of the characters specifically when the anime was confirmed. And when I say they changed the names, I don't mean that they just changed spelling or pronunciation for the show, I mean that they actually changed the names in the manga as well.
This page to the left was an actual page that they put into the manga to let you know that they changed the names. In every chapter after this page was featured, they used the new names instead of the original ones, which completely threw me off in the next chapter, but I got over it pretty quickly though, because the story is so good that once you get used to seeing the characters, the names don't really matter.
As far as manga being adapted into anime is concerned, this is the most successful one that I've seen aside from Shingeki no Kyojin (although I like Akame ga Kill more).
